This experiment was conducted because of a love of basketball. The tested variable was the basketball court surface that gave the basketball the highest bounce in inches. After testing each surface, the data was averaged. Based on the data, the multi-purpose floor averaged .7 inches higher than the hardwood, which was 3.3 inches higher than the concrete. This is because when the ball hits the ground the energy stored inside transfers into different types of energy (ex. Heat, sound).
